Famous internationally for being a wintering ground for migrating birds, Bundala is located in the South and is UNESCO designated biosphere reserve. Bundala National Park is a treasure trove for bird watchers, particularly those interested in the Greater Flamingo, of which large flocks can be seen during the migration season. It’s also one of 3 wetlands in the island so if you’re lucky you will be graced by the presence of a salt water crocodile or a deer.
