A king’s tale is what Panduwasnuwara entails. Named after King Panduwasdev who took the throne back in 504 BC, this town is home to his rules’ remains. Found on the road from Kurunegala to Chilaw, many archaeological ruins are sighted. Being the king who succeeded King Vijaya, the state of the ruins are quite intact and offer insight into how well masonry was done back in the day. From the moated tower known as Ektemge, which was the home of the beautiful Princess Unmada Chitra, to the tomb of King Vijaya is also present amongst the ruins.
